Dec 25, 2017 at 17:38 comment added Thunderforge @Flimzy I guess I am assuming that Luther was accurate in saying that these people had objects that they claimed to be genuine relics, but he believed they were not genuine. For instance, I am wondering what happened to the banner Christ had in Hell, which Luther said was on exhibition, so presumably a banner of some sort did exist and people saw it. I’m hoping for some sort of record like “We destroyed the counterfeit relics in Compostella” or something that would allude to their fate. Did that object, genuine or not, get destroyed? Does that answer your question?
