But the most profound statement came in Mr Rankin's answer when he said that the Bible shows "what God really wanted to communicate", and that may be key to answering my Q! Because so many related issues spring from the problem of ambiguities, I've confined the matter to an inconclusive date for Jesus' birth and no command to celebrate it.
