In John 5 Jesus decries both testimony and glory from men. The revelation behind Peter's famous confession (Mat 16) is lauded as having been given to Peter not by men, but by God. Jesus is not to be found through the process of evidence based intellectual consent. The answer lies here: "But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man." - John 2:24-25 | |
