In 2010 an Anglican vicar received a bunch of publicity for communing a dog. Many conservative Lutherans used this as an example of what happens when you lose certain doctrines blah blah blah. In response, some ELCA churches had 'PETA Sunday' where many simply blessed pets but some went further and communed them. | |
