Hi! I'm a born-again Christian and Augustine enjoyer.
I come from a Lutheran (LCMS) background but currently attend an EFCA church. I love reading ancient Christian literature, but am by no means an expert. My only expertise is in mathematics. If you want to know my stance on some controversial issues:
I believe firmly in four of the five points of Calvinism. I do not think that the 'L' (limited atonement) is answering a meaningful question.
I believe in the five 'Solas' of the Reformation.
I believe in Biblical inerrancy. However, I also strongly opposed reading the Scriptures as simply a history book. Those who learn nothing from the Bible but historical trivia are more off-base in my view than those who disbelieve in inerrancy yet still accept the Scripture's absolute authority on faith and morals.
Regarding baptism, my views are in flux. I was baptized at the age of 4 when my parents became believers, and have never felt a compulsion to get re-baptized even after several years of attending a Baptist Church. I am not persuaded either way regarding the issue of infant vs. believer's baptism. I am convinced however that baptism properly ought to be by immersion.
On the Real Presence in Communion, I have a tough time telling the difference between Luther and Calvin. I think probably one of them is right but I couldn't say who or why.
I believe in theistic evolution, but I also believe in a literal Adam and Eve and a literal fall and a literal Flood.
I favor amillennialism over historical premillennialism, but I do not think this difference is of much significance.
I think that a pre-trib rapture is wholly without basis and contrary both to Scripture and sound reason.
I am a pessimistic ecumenical, meaning I think the Church should be a united organization, but I don't see any hope of that happening any time soon. I do not think it is good to sacrifice clarity on important issues for the sake of unity.
