I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born to a virgin through the immaculate conception of God's Spirit, that he walked the earth as a human, and that he brought God's Kingdom to earth. He taught for about 33 years, was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day he rose from the dead, identified himself to his disciples, ate and drank with them and afterwards ascended into heaven on a cloud to be with His Father.
I hunger to understand Scripture. This is my burden. I have long understood that words are much more than definitions and that the relationships that words convey carry the true meaning of the author. I can see that the bible was written to communicate life and the description of life. I have also understand that God is the source of life.
I consider myself a child of God. I was raised in a Methodist family in Oklahoma. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was about 30 as a result of studying Scripture with a group called Bible Study Fellowship. I understand that God wants us to live His word and not just speak it, and I try to live the life He wants for me to live.
I believe that God has given each of us Spiritual gifts and calls for us to freely share our gifts with others. He has given me the gift of being a servant. I am drawn to help others and often use my resources to lift others in their needs.
I am 69 years old. I am retired. I have married once and soon will have been married for 40 years. I have a family of six children, two adopted, one deceased. I am American Indian. We adopted and raised two black children and they are our own.
I have joined this community to learn from you and share the treasures I have found in Scripture, and I will always validate what I understand with Scripture. When I share something I will accept constructive feedback and I am hurt when others make judgements on me without reading what I have written.
I believe in the truth of Scripture and in the life it expresses. I believe that words are more than definitions. I believe that God's Spirit is the true teacher.
I do not intend to hurt anyone or convey any ugliness through the use of my words. I have long learned that communicating through the written word is extremely difficult however, the only way I am able to express myself is through my words. I try diligently to use the best words I know to express what I want to share, but I know that my words will be understood differently by some who read them.
My intent here is to learn and share what I have learned.
