This question presupposes that the Catholic Church teaches that you are to have as many children as possible. That is simply not true. I think that deserves to be answered in more detail as a separate question.

@Mike sorry, maybe that should have been a reply to El'endiaStarman. I only meant to share that I think this is a belief of all Christians. I don't know of any denomination that believes that Abraham was not saved by Jesus.

@Mike Catholics also believe that Christ died for the past, present, and future sins of all (not just a Protestant belief).
