traumatic brain-injury conqueror (though it might be better to say I'm a 'traumatic brain-injury "survivor" as 'having conquered my brain-injury' sounds like I'm "done with it & ready for the next challenge," while that is definitely not the case---I've 'conquered' it in the sense of 'it not killing me, and my managing to live with it'--the same way European explorers "conquered" America--but the tramatic injury is-still here and -is A BIG PART OF MY LIFE (the same way my ancestry includes BOTH European AND Native American blood).
