2nd/3rd century Latin church father
Tertullian (155–240) was an early Christian theologian and apologist, and the first Christian author to write extensively in Latin. He is known for giving an early formulation of the Trinity. He was never made a saint, as some of his later writings contradicted the teachings of the Church.
