Annihilationism is the belief that the final judgement will result in unsaved souls being completely destroyed in hell rather than being subjected to eternal torment.

Annihilationism is the sister doctrine to Conditional Immortality, or Conditionalism, and is the belief that the final judgement will result in unsaved souls being completely destroyed in hell rather than being subjected to eternal torment. Annihilationists may still use the biblical phrases "eternal punishment" and "eternal destruction"; according to this view, the eternal aspect of the punishment of sinners is the result, rather than the process.
