If a married couple is physically able to have children (at least potentially) can they honor God without having children?

To make a long story short: a few years ago my fiancee and I agreed that we wanted kids. Fast forward to today we have been married a few years and we are talking about starting a family and her getting off the pill. Well she doesn't want kids of our own. She is ok with adoption though.

I believe we could definitely still honor God by adopting but I believeRoman Catholics, for example, say that sex has at least two purposes according to God: uniting a couple and producing offspring. Therefore if a couple is able to have kids they should at least try to at some point in time.

The issue is very difficult for me for multiple reasons but one big reason is because it is one of the only times that I can think of where what I desire and what I think God wants is the same thing but a person I care about is preventing from me from doing that thing (having children).

Also it is hard for me to see this issue clearly because I haveUnder what circumstances would other church doctrines weigh in on whether or not a hard time separating the motives. I believe my wife doesn't want kids of our own because she is very conscience of her body and she doesn't want it to change. Where as I wonder if part of my desire to have kids of our owncouple, otherwise able to have children, might choose to a kid that looks like me and if that is selfish.

God couldn't have given meadopt rather than procreate in the wrong map so I guess I'm reading it wrong. I'm very confused.natural fashion?
