Why is freemasonry considered by many evangelicals to be incompatible with Christianity? I seem to remember a bunch of answers which rephrase the question to something more appropriate or offer a rebuttal and answer in the opposite. Assuming that the person answering comes from an evangelical Church which I think is reasonable from reading their answer, this seems very relevant. |

Are there “rational” criteria for which books appear in the Bible? This page seems to have a lot of good information on it, if you need to cite sources: inplainsite.org/html/how_we_got_our_bible.html |

Biblical Prophecy and Fulfillment I believe that most dispensationalists disagree about the meaning of the final week (and the destruction of the temple) and consider that a period of tribulation that has not happened yet. This is one of the key texts for either side of that issue. |

Why did Jesus refer to Gentiles as dogs? Thankfully, we have some help from Hebrews 11:17-19. God was testing Abraham, and Abraham believed that God was able to resurrect Isaac from the dead to fulfill his promise. I am not disagreeing that Jesus was testing the woman. I just think that the testing was solely on her patience, not on her ability to bear insults as well. |

Why did Jesus refer to Gentiles as dogs? You are saying that he used a slur against her, knowing that she would humble herself and thereby glorify her? What if a chief priest insulted her in the same way and for the same reason? Would it be ok? How is this different from the man in Romans 6:1, who thinks he can sin and be absolved of guilt because his sin glorifies God? |

Why did Jesus refer to Gentiles as dogs? The Bible also tells fathers not to provoke their children. Jesus called the Pharisees to repentance by "insulting" them and calling them hypocrites. This woman already had faith and repentance, so there was no reason to "insult" her. |

Why did Jesus refer to Gentiles as dogs? We do have to answer to him for proper interpretation and for dishonoring him, though. |

Why did Jesus refer to Gentiles as dogs? Young's literal shows Jesus using little dogs as well, though many of the other translations do not. I see wild dogs as being so different that to associate them with pets would be ridiculous. More importantly, I find it really hard to believe Jesus insulting someone like this. When he did insult people, he was very clear about it, like with the Pharisees. |

What are the differences between the different millenialisms? Interesting. I never knew that. I always thought that they agreed on the tribulation. |

Why did Jesus refer to Gentiles as dogs? The Jews used "dogs" as a common insult, referencing wild dogs. Jesus' reference was different, giving a picture of children's pets around the dinner table. While Jesus was making a strong statement about the relationship between the gentiles, the Jews, and himself, it was not an insulting one. |

What are the differences between the different millenialisms? I thought that in Amillenialism and Postmillenialism that the Tribulation had already passed, usually referencing the period around 70 AD and the destruction of the temple. But you mention the Tribulation in Amillenialism as a future event. Am I missing something? |

Does the Bible condemn white lies? Regarding non-deceptive white lies, I was also including husbands telling their wives they look fine rather than going into unflattering specifics. Most of the time, they really do know what each other are thinking and just want and there is no deception involved. On adversarial / wartime conditions, I would also include Christians protecting Jews in WWII and modern Christians being persecuted. Ideally, they wouldn't have to deceive anyone and they could just not answer the questions, but I doubt that it is always that simple. |

Does the Bible condemn white lies? I think that you need to distinguish between deceptive white lies and non-deceptive ones. Sometimes people dress up the truth but both parties still understand the real meaning. Adversarial contexts, such as war, also need to be considered. |

Genesis 3, original sin and mortality At least part of the answer seems to be that he sacrificed an animal to make their clothing, delaying their immediate punishment. |
