Stack Exchange employs me as a Community Manager. I've been known to respond to jericson@stackexchange.com. Alternatively, I maintain an office on chat. (Please ignore the meta cruft.)

You can read about what I've done over the years in my curriculum vitae.

On a personal note, I'm married and have three children. Our oldest son loves school, friends, games, and reading. (He can't wait to get on our LEGO® Answers site, but he's not quite old enough. My posts there are usually at his request.) Two of my children happen to have been born on the same day. I sometimes write about that experience.

Don't have time for a full review of something? Why not try my 5-second reviews?

Occasionally, I write a post for Eschewmenical.

comment What does messiah literally mean in the Bible?
@NotMyWill-butGodsWillBedone: You did ask on Christianity. It shouldn't surprise you to get the Christian answer. If you asked a related question on one of the other religion sites, I'm sure you'd get a different answer. (By the way, you answered your own question in the question. Were you just looking for references?)

@David Stratton: Thank you for the pointer. I borrowed heavily from that link for my answer. ;-)

comment To what extent can you be forgiven?
Could you point to your source for this? Ideally, an answer from a Catholic perspective will point to the relevant catechism, papal encyclical or the like.

comment When, if ever, is eisegesis a valid interpretation of scripture over exegesis?
Hear, hear! This is a wonderful, well-balanced, and helpful answer. One of the most popular hermeneutical methods used by Christian preachers (the Christological approach) is eisegesis par excellence.

I deleted the final paragraph to avoid having the entire answer be at risk of deletion. ("All posts asking for the site to pass judgement on some person or group (as opposed to describing a belief system, examining an idea, explaining history, and so on) are off-topic and will be closed/deleted."--Christianity.SE vs. Survivor )

revised Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God?
Since you are not arguing for Trinitarianism as the defining difference between the Muslim and Christian deities, this is just a distraction. But it's also a reason for the answer to be deleted altogether!

comment How could a sinless Mary die?
A related question: How did a sinless Jesus die? (I suspect the theological difference is that nobody thinks Mary's death was a propitiation for our sins.) Also related:What is the biblical basis for the Immaculate Conception?

comment What major translations of the Bible are in the Public Domain?
Hi Russell and welcome to Christianity. Thank you for bringing the OEB to my attention; this is the first I've heard of the project. It sounds like you might be just the sort of expert we are looking to attract and I hope you will find the time to answer (and perhaps ask) some more questions. I'd also like to direct your attention to Biblical Hermeneutics, which is our sister site where translation questions sometimes get migrated. In any case, thank you for the contribution and I look forward to exploring the OEB project!

comment Why hold hands for grace?
One final point: my father used to joke that we ought to press our palms together in personal prayer rather than fold our hands. He showed us a picture of Jesus to prove it. These days, if you search Google, you'll find that Jesus now endorses folding of the hands. ;-)

comment Why is it rare to combine Reformed/Calvinist doctrine and Dispensationalism?
Could you elaborate on where you heard this? Ideally with a link or quote from some written source. (I don't have the impression that the assertion is true at all.)
