Saved from the web by a job in industry. Coding GUI for computer-aided railway realignment machinery.

At last a job where I have time to do stuff properly and don't have to worry about loads of unfixed bugs coming back to haunt me.

comment What happened to Joseph, Jesus's father?
I followed you to 'His uncle', then ... I don't know what happened.

comment Why did the Catholic Church change so radically after Vatican II in regards to the status of Jews?
360-degree isn't an about face :)

comment Does the Bible say if animals in Eden were carnivorous, or when animals on Earth became carnivorous?
You could start by making the question body the same as the title...

comment Roman Catholic: Is piracy of information and media wrong in all circumstances?
+1 for the last sentence, a truth we can sometimes forget...

comment If Adam and Eve didn't know good from evil, how can we say they sinned (according to Roman Catholicism)?
As @david hints, there are problems here with knowing exactly what you mean by 'sin' and 'bad', and probably also 'knowledge of good and evil'.

comment What do Protestants say was the source for the doctrine of the perpetual virginity of Mary?
Sex and sin were pretty much synonymous for a large part of medieval (and pre-medieval?) Christendom. I'd suspect that as the prime motivator of this doctrine which as far as I can see is entirely motivated by doctrines rather than any 'historical' indications in the text.

comment If the Ten Commandments say “thou shalt not kill” how can a Christian fight in a war?
I'm sympathetic to your viewpoint, but the "image Jesus was in the room... we all know" kind of negates the need for a Bible at all...

comment Why did Jesus question God on the cross?
@MarcGravell, I read that as meaning Jesus was consciously 'fulfilling' the prophecy by citing the Psalm.

comment Biblical basis for non-practice of Kiss of Peace
"Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other." :)

comment Is lust sometimes not sinful?
I think you might get a better answer if you got to English.SE and ask if lust still counts as lust if you're 'lusting' after your wife...

comment What tribe was Joshua from?
-1 for asking question on christianity.SE during the sermon :)

comment Are there any major Protestant denominations that meet every day and are together all the time like the early church was?
The thing is, when you get to that level of 'togetherness' you're not really talking about a 'church' as most people understand it: more of a community. And they're are any number of Protestant communities (the Amish being a well-known example).

comment What is the falling out between Tullian Tchividjian and The Gospel Coalition about?
I have serious doubts about whether this question is really on topic for this site... but maybe I'm the only one.

comment Is it possible (intellectually honest) to 'contextualise' the 'anti-divorce' passages, but not the 'anti-homosexual' ones?
@Flimzy, hm, maybe I also need to re-read and better understand your comment.

Of course, sometimes it doesn't work out so cleanly :)

comment Why is it the soul takes the punishment in hell after a sinful human body died on earth?
Good answer to a mediocre question. I'm not sure which bits are to be considered 'preachy'.

Sorry, this is a good answer in and of itself, but to a different question...

comment Is it possible (intellectually honest) to 'contextualise' the 'anti-divorce' passages, but not the 'anti-homosexual' ones?
@Flimzy, except that Jesus specifically said (my paraphrase) that divorce was 'tolerated' because of our 'hardness of heart': an exemption which he didn't extend to remarriage.
