I wish to note that Caleb has been extremely influential in this site as it has grown. He is an excellent moderator, but more than that he is an exemplary member of the community - always willing to learn and to share that knowledge with others.

comment Was Jesus a separate god?
@Ikke: Jonathon's words, not mine (I screwed up an edit and rolled back).

comment How to answer “Why do evil and suffering exist?”
Removed obsolete / irrelevant comments. Question now asks for help with a response to a specific argument in a specific scenario.

comment What do Christians mean by “holy”?
It would help this question a lot if you referred to, say, a dictionary definition and detailed what you found unclear.

comment What defines official Christian belief?
It is a duplicate, but closing a question as a duplicate of a not-contructive question is... Um, not constructive. FWIW: this is a rather obvious question, and I'd kinda like to see some sort of FAQ topic created from or in response to it... but given the diverse nature of the participants here, it would have to be very diplomatic. Almost worth just kicking folks over to Wikipedia.

comment Is Mary's virginity evidence that sex is always sinful?
Y'know what's more effective than leaving comments suggesting possible edits or questions? Actually editing, and/or asking questions. Comments cleared.

comment Atheism is the default position. Isn't the burden of proof on the Christian to assert that God exists?
@vonjd: it is absurd. I've seen people take verses out of context to make a point before, but this approaches making a "source" the way you might make a cut and paste ransom letter. And doing this twice, with no explanation, after being called out on it the first time, strongly suggests either inability, or if I were to be less generous, an active attempt to provide misleading information. I won't sugar-coat the problem - if you have time to engage in lengthy comment discussion about it, you have time to simply correct it.

@vonjd: if you can't write a clear answer, then writing two unclear answers doesn't solve anything. I strongly suggest you revise both of them if you feel you've clarified this in comments somewhere. Comments are intended for transient discussion, not clarifying all the points you made badly in the body text.

comment Who were the “giants” mentioned in the Bible?
This is one of those tangential discussions that Chat is meant to cater to. So, HINT, HINT...

comment Is Leviticus 14 describing a cure for leprosy?
Reading things in context, eh? That's so crazy it just might work...

comment How can suffering from natural causes be reconciled with an omnimax god?
Seems distinct enough to me; if anything, the linked question follows from this one.

comment How does the New Testament define a Christian and a non-Christian, a brother in Christ and not a brother in Christ?
@brilliant: your comments here are lengthy and a bit hard to follow - can you perhaps edit clarifications into the question (or ask a separate question if necessary) instead?
