comment Would aliens invalidate Christianity as we know it?
General philosophical or sociological questions are off-topic unless clearly asking for a doctrinal answer.See: On-topic and constructive examples. But this is perfectly acceptable in chat, and oh, look! Someone created a whole cat room for this type of question!

Welcome to the site! As a new visitor, I'd recommend checking out the following two posts, which are meant to help newcomers "learn the ropes": help page and How we are different than other sites? As it reads, this is asking for opinions, which Isn't within the scope of this site. For tips on how this could be salvaged, see this

comment Did Paul write other letters that are not in the Bible?
Thank you. I edited that into your answer. By the way, welcome to the site! This next has nothing to do with the quality of your answer, it's just standard to help new visitors avoid misunderstanding the site (as I did at first.) As a new visitor, I'd recommend checking out the following two posts, which are meant to help newcomers "learn the ropes": help page and How we are different than other sites?

This is pretty good. Can you add a link or footnote to your reference?

comment Was the Trinity still a Trinity when Jesus died?
I'm sorry, but with no clarification and us just guessing what you mean, I'm voting to close as "unclear what you're asking". I will retract my vote once this is edited for clarity, but as it stands, I don't see how we could answer this.

@green4rrow is that the case? Can you edit your question to clarify what you're asking?

Please see the help page. It looks like you intended this to be a reply to me (a comment) on Nexus' post. Unfortunately you haven't earned enough reputation to comment on posts yet. Once you've earned 50 rep, you can start doing so. If you disagree with my comment about the other answer not being an answer, you can flag it for moderator attention.

comment Was the Trinity still a Trinity when Jesus died?
Not quite sure what you're asking... Scripture isn't very clear as to what Hesus was doing during those three days, but it's commonly believed that it was only His body that was dead, and that He was preaching during those three days. If so, how could that possibly affect the doctrine of the Trinity?

This answer would be a lot better if you could add references showing that this is a common understanding, and who teaches/believes it. Remember that "I believe it means..." isn't an acceptable answer, since this site isn't about personal interpretation. See How we are different than other sites? and What makes a good supported answer?

comment If Hell does not exist would God have sent Jesus to die?
General philosophical or sociological questions are off-topic unless clearly asking for a doctrinal answer. See: On-topic and constructive examples. These extended discussions in comments are evidence of this being a poorly scoped, Truthy question. I agree it's a good question, but it needs to be scoped to bring it in line with guidelines. It's a bit hard to close "why are Christian dumb" questions as off topic if we allow equally opinion-based questions to stand just because we agree with them.

comment What exactly is the purpose of a Patron Saint?
@Matt - Considering I'm not Catholic, nor do I believe in patron saints (I was just answering the question), your statement doesn't offend me in the least, but it's also not appropriate to the site. we don't argue "who's right" here. You might want to check out Affable's answer on Why worship saints / Mary / Angels? Are they worshiping the saints? Or do they believe they are merely praying to those that God has provided as intercessors? They don't think they're worshiping the saints.

comment Evidence towards Christianity
Welcome to the site. I'm not arguing the validity of what you say with this next, so please don't take it as such: While this is good, it's not really the type of answer that this site is intended for. This is a more academic site that explores various teachings within Christianity, not personal thoughts on it. That material is better suited to a discussion forum or chat room. Please see How we are different than other sites? Again, this is not bad, it's just not what this site is about.
