@FMShyanguya - you're right. This question and answer are not OK by current standards. They were Ok at the time. I've locked them as such.

comment What do Jehovah's Witnesses believe about evolution?
I say that based on the fact that you even bothered with your recent meta post.So no offense, with this post I didn't just let it go. (If I addressed every post I thought could be improved, I'd be a tyrant.) I'm trying to recruit you as someone who is capable and willing to help uphold the standards and even help define still fuzzy ones. I only do that with people I see potential in. (I say that only in the event that you take my initial comment as negative criticism.)

I've seen it before, and it's problematic for those questions as well. That type of question falls into the second batch of questions discussed here. Better than "Is X true", but still too broad. communicating that distinction is an uphill battle, and you show promise. You seem to care about the site and the guidelines.

comment To a YEC, how does a metaphorical interpretation of Genesis 1-3 distort the gospel?
@Flimzy - are you looking for an answer that's personally convincing to you? Or one that is an established YEC view as supported by a group like Answers in Genesis or another similar group?

I just want to remind you that if you're looking for how theologians have addressed this question, you're OK, but if you're looking for an answer that's personally convincing to you, your question is off-topic for this site. we're not here to convince you. Also, I've deleted all the debate comments. It's not OK to debate in comments on any StackeExchange site AFAIK. And it's definitely not acceptable here.

This might be better as "What does the watchtower society teach about evolution". The beliefs of the members may vary, the current/most recent statement from Watchtower is definitive n the JW world.

Discussions in comments... Not OK. I've deleted all of the chatter. If you wish to have discussions, take it to chat.

comment What is the significance of Noah, after the flood, getting drunk and cursing his son who saw him Naked?
Welcome to the site! This answer would be a lot better if you could add references showing that this is a common understanding, and who teaches/believes it. On this site, we're not looking for personal interpretation, but rather focusing on what various Christian groups teach. See How we are different than other sites? and What makes a good supported answer?

comment Is there any scriptural support for the belief of convulsions/seizures being a sign of the Holy Spirit's presence?
Please clarify. The way I read this, the verse is about a man convulsing because an evil spirit forces him to as it exits him. The question asks about the modern practice of convulsing because of being overcome by the Holy Spirit, as found in Charismatic churches. That's something totally different. For now I'm letting this stand, but answers are meant to answer the actual question, and this doesn't. If you can edit to clarify, this can be salvaged.

Welcome to the site! This next has nothing to do with the quality of your answer, it's just standard to help new visitors avoid misunderstanding the site (as I did at first.) As a new visitor, I'd recommend checking out the following two posts, which are meant to help newcomers "learn the ropes": the help page and How we are different than other sites?

@curiousdannii - Care to post an answer here to expand on that thought? I posted the Meta post to get a community consensus and got nothing but crickets.
