I'm a hobbyist programmer, part-time sysadmin, and full-time data center automation consulting engineer.
I have experience with myriad editors, shells, and OSes. And, while I'm an ardent emacs user, am pretty much beyond the religious wars of "what's best" when it comes to platform, editor, or toolset: if it works for the problem at hand, and you know it, it's [probably] worthwhile :)

If so, then the conclusion that he is bound by it is irrational - how else could miracles have taken place (raising the dead, feeding the 5000, walking on water, etc etc)? |

To what extent did God establish a law prior to the Mosaic law? There is a period of time from the fall to Cain and Abel's sacrifices - at least long enough for Cain and Abel to be old enough to be tending flocks and tilling the earth. |

Can I believe in evolution and still be a Christian? @styfle - the English word "day" can mean a variety of things as well: it doesn't mean that it's always used that way, nor that using an alternate definition merely to mollify one's conscience or synchronize two accounts that otherwise are disharmonious is the proper application of hermeneutics and scripture applied to scripture :) |

How did all the animals fit into Noah's ark? @Marc Gravell - you are free to disagree with the article, but as other civilizations both around the time of, and after Noah built vessels in the same rough ballpark of size, the plausibility of the size Noah's Ark shouldn't be in much question. Additionally, see the references on Chinese junks (wooden) in the 15th century - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/… - the dimensions of the "treasure ships" are within 10% of the length of the Ark |

What is the physical evidence for a local flood? the modern understanding of "species" and the Biblical use of "kind" are not interchangeable and there is also no indication of "continents" prior to the flood (indeed, the creation account says the land was together) |
