comment Total Depravity vs the Rich Man
"Total Depravity" (the T of TULIP) means that depravity has reached the totality of our being - not that we are as depraved as we could be.

comment When, if ever, is eisegesis a valid interpretation of scripture over exegesis?
This is a first - having Isaiah 7:14 reference anyone other than Jesus: who else would be called "God with us"?

comment The Grace Gambit
@Jay - "I Am The Way, The Truth, The Life. No one comes to the Father, except by me." does it in two sentences :)

comment Will we be able to eat anything in Heaven?
fwiw, if you're worried about chili dogs not being in heaven, that's ok ... but I'm planning to be focused on praising the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, learning about Him, and having the totality of my being focused upon Him

@Monika Michael - I have some strongly-held beliefs about it, but wanted to ask and then see what others bring to the topic :)

the comment is added automatically when a close vote is cast. I think it looks like a full duplicate, and so voted to close. However, others may disagree. If you're one of them, maybe a slight reword would help show why it's not a duplicate :)

comment Why did God create unnecessary creatures like wasps and flies?
Presuming you subscribe to the "infinitely wise creator" view (as I do), there was originally no such thing as an "invasive species" - that is purely a result of The Fall

comment Does the Church in general need to revisit and revise its strategy in maintaining the faith?
Which denomination? The tradition I was raised in does an admirable job of precisely what you describe. Many others do not. As it stands, this questions is not answerable.

comment Water Baptism - Is it still necessary?
@tunmise fashipe - the only reference that mandates "flowing water" is when Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan. All other accounts merely indicate there was water.

comment Is it a sin to do “works” for the sake of “rewards” in heaven?
There are excellent answers on this already, but I wanted to share a blog post I wrote several years ago on this topic.

comment Why is Cain afraid when he is driven away from God?
@mojo - I agree that Cain was, in fact, the firstborn: but there are still swaths of Adam and Eve's immediate progeny about which we know nothing

comment Why is Cain afraid when he is driven away from God?
@mojo, he is the first listed, but we don't know when it was, other than Cain and Abel came around before Seth, and Seth is through whom the Promise was to come

Moses did die, and was buried - by God Det 34:6 "And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows his burial place to this day."
