OK, with that additional comment I will accept your answer. Even though it is one sentence, it is profound! But I'd still like you to add some more thoughts... :) Thanks!

Thanks, but please expand on this, rather than just copy / paste the comment.

@RobertHarvey - if you choose to answer this question yourself, in the manner of the comments you wrote above, then I will happily accept it.

Both answers were good, but I accepted this one purely because of your two final bullet points: succinct and clear, thanks!

comment Is Christianity just a belief system, or is it also a system for organizing and governing society?
@Probe: your additional questions are quite different to the original question. I suggest you add them separately.

@MarcGravell: interesting examples of what people might not consider "fair and just" but are a core part of Christianity include, "turn the other cheek" and "love your enemies".

By, "Christian religious texts", I presume you mean The Bible? (There aren't any other texts for mainstream Christians, though there are for smaller groups.)

comment Has the name “Jesus” ever been used for naming Jewish children since the Savior's incarnation?
@Caleb: I think it's a great question. It's not about doctrine but it is about the implications of the name of Jesus. Does this Name above all names mean people are less likely to reuse it?

They were not required to keep the Sabbath and I completely agree with your Biblical reasoning, in line with the doctrine of Grace. But did they keep the Sabbath, ie refrain from work? Or was it, as the text appears to imply, not so black and white but rather a mixture of some people keeping the Sabbath and some not?

You've made it clear that Sunday was their chosen day and that they held worship services, thanks. But did they keep the Sabbath ie refrain from work on that day?
