I am interested in functional programming and the java platform.
I wrote and published a programming language named "Frege" (after the great german logician) that brings together both worlds.
The language is in many respects like haskell (syntax, type system, lazy semantics) but allows to use java methods as functions.
For more information see http://code.google.com/p/frege/

Why did Mary ask Jesus to make wine at the Wedding at Cana She must have been thirsty?! |

Who were the the “Prophets of Zwickau”? Note that communism and socialism are totally incompatible with anarchism, which is lack of reign, while communism and socialism pre-suppose an almost almighty government that has the power to force people to behave to their silly rules. |

Is masturbation a sin? He supported his arguments by rationality and common sense. I can't believe that those are worthless? Sapere aude! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sapere_aude |

Is masturbation a sin? @mojo - Why should it be a sin? Who is hurt by it? Why is it that the body of a young person is to a great extent dominated by sexual desire? The answer is obvious. No, it's not the devil. Youth is just the biological best time to breed offspring. That's all, and if you believe that GOD created man, then it is ridiculous to maintain at the same time that one of the most pwoerful instincts is not also implanted by GOD. |

Why is rape condoned in the Bible? @Mason - never did I read a comment so cynical as yours. Do you know that laws as this are actually executed in our times (in Iran, for example). Were it is most times women who are stoned to death. Did you know that Jesus said on a occasion like this: "He who is without sin throwes the first stone." thereby effecitvely obsoleting the mosaic law? Yet still many "Christians" hold the OT in such high estemm that they may as well unite with the most repressive muslim sects (for, in the end, the Islam is in essence an OT religion). |

Is saying “Oh My God” really using God's name in vain? This supposes that God's name is "God", but I think the jewish religion is of different opinion. |

Is masturbation a sin? What if a homosexual masturbates? He'll for sure not think of a woman, will he? |

Is Mary's virginity evidence that sex is always sinful? @Benjol - Very interesting link! To quote a passage: Nor do we, in so saying, assign matrimony to be a fault; but forasmuch as lawful intercourse cannot be had without the pleasure of the flesh, it is proper to forbear entering the holy place, because the pleasure itself cannot be without a fault. I am rather sceptical, whether this no pleasure without fault has any theological foundation. |

Was the fall of man inevitable? An easier explanation is that the expression "GOD regretted ..." is a rationalization of the men that used to tell or write down the story of the Great Flood - we know that, for example, the Gilgamesch Epos (where the Great Flood saga is also told) is older than the OT, hence the OT authors (so to speak) had to fit it somehow to match their culutral-religios environment. |

How do Christians reconcile God's omnipotence with his omniscience? @SM with that I can agree. |

Was the fall of man inevitable? God knew from all eternity that man would sin and what he would do about it - this is doubtful when one reads the Genesis further, where it is said that God "regrets" having created men, so, he literally starts project "Man 2.0" with Noah, while extincting all others. |

For how long did the early Christians share all their possessions? It continued probably so long as there was something to sell. This is the fate of all communist groups - they live off capital others have created, and when this is exhausted, they vanish. |

Does God change? Sorry, @sam, but your argumentation does not hold water. For example: What if it is His plan to change? You can't at the same time assume that He is almighty and yet unable to change. Hence, you have to argue that for some reson he does not want to change. But then you're pretending to know Gods plans .... |

How do Christians reconcile God's omnipotence with his omniscience? @SM - Ahh, now you make a differnece between "created by God" and "derived from God". Yet this doesn't help with the dilemma, unless you define "almighty" by "bound by its natures inherent characteristics" or something like that. As soon as you do that, I am with you. |

How do Christians reconcile God's omnipotence with his omniscience? @Software Monkey - obviously, if GOD is bound by the laws of logic, then one would have to explain how HE can be bound by something he HIMSELF created (or, if HE didn't, who did it then). |

Why is rape not in the 10 commandments? Forgive me, I was too lazy to look it up. I am quite sure, however, as others have pointed out, "adultery" has nothing to do with it. It's all about violence. |
