comment Does the Mormon doctrine of exaltation implicitly require acknowledging the existence of sentient extra-terrestrial life?
+1 although I'll point out that nowhere does it say that these worlds are in "our universe". It just says "other worlds".

comment God the Father's possession of a body of flesh and bones
I'd also like to point out this passage from D&C 88, where it talks about the light of Christ "filling the immensity of space".

comment What is an LDS general conference?
+1 Great answer. Just two nitpicks: "As all male members are considered Priests" - this isn't true, as not all men hold the Priesthood (although most do). Also "[the teachings] are considered canonical..." - again, not quite true. In order for something to be Official Doctrine, it must be ratified as such by the members of the Church. (This is a very common misconception, even among Mormons) Doctrine is only found in the four standard works, the official declarations, and the Articles of Faith.

comment What is the significance of the inverted pentagram symbols on the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City?
+1 Matthew B. Brown's book Symbols in Stone talks about this too, and declares the inverted star to be symbolic of the Morning Star (Venus) and thus a symbol of Jesus Christ. (He declares Himself the "bright and morning star")

comment What roles do faith and works play in the LDS/Mormon understanding of salvation?
@Matt the "after all we can do" phrase is really interesting, because 2 Ne 2:5-6 makes it clear that by both the spiritual and temporal laws, all men are cut off, because all have sinned. So "all we can do" is really "nothing", because nothing we could do would ever atone for our own sins. However, Christ asks that we live according to the law as if it could redeem us, and He accepts that show of faith and intent as "payment" for His grace.

comment Do we actually know that Jesus was a carpenter?
+1 I think the idea of Him being a stonemason makes a whole lot more sense in the light of scriptures like Mark 12:10 (Christ is the stone the builders rejected), 1 Cor 10:4 (the Rock was Christ), Matt 7:24 (wise man building his house upon a rock), Rom 9:33 (a rock of offense to those who don't want to believe), etc.
