This is what is what I have alway heard growing up Church of God. Mainly, if you are an alcoholic, just a small amount can be a trigger and not as much that any consumption is and of itself is necessarily a sin. Better to be careful. 1 Corinthians 8:9 "Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak."

I often wondered if Judas, having seen the miracles of Jesus, and believing he was the messiah, was attempting to make Jesus 'play his hand' and rise up against the Romans, this would explain why he was so quick to off himself when his plan failed.
