What do Protestants say was the source for the doctrine of the perpetual virginity of Mary? It seemed to me that he was asking why Protestants left the view of the eternal virginity. I don't think that you can ask protestants who don't believe in that view to give sources and reasons for believing in that view. They just won't interpret the scriptures that way. Maybe I'm off but that's how it seemed to me. |

What roles do faith and works play in the LDS/Mormon understanding of salvation? Mormon is a person, Mormons is a term used to describe members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As is LDS. As for a Freemason influencing the doctrine of the LDS church when Joseph Smith had his first vision he was only 14 and NOT a freemason... |

Why are there inconsistencies in the New Testament? Just because you don't like a question is not a reason to downvote it. He has a legitimate concern and did some research to show that concern (even if it was just visiting that website). |

Why are there inconsistencies in the New Testament? @AffableGeek my opinion at the bottom was meant to address that point. I think that you can believe in the doctrinal inerrancy of the Bible while still excepting that errors in human perception might be the cause of slight inconsistencies in the description of events. Are there really people who say that every single word in the Bible is perfect? |
