I have a good understanding of C#, VB, HTML, CSS. I have a New Job where I am getting into Advanced SQL and SQL SERVER 2008. Lots of FUN!

I have been Building Websites for small businesses and will hopefully be finishing up a Windows/XboX Arcade style game sometime in the near future.

I also have plans on Creating a Text Based Browser Game.

how is it not? believers came together in homes and temples and fields on the day they would have normally been in Synagogues and other places of learning religious beliefs. they did this to learn about the things that Jesus was all about, that is the reason for "Church"

comment What are the reasons for having special names for God/ Jesus?
I like the answer, but I am not sure that quoting from CS Lewis is considered On-Topic here. I completely agree, just not sure it fits with the layout of this site.

comment Mormonism or LDS?
you said Academic Setting and not by definition. I am sure that there are those who in an academic setting would say that not all religions are a cult. by these definitions we could say that some cultures are Cults, or some countries are cults (definition 5). Darwinism or global warming could be considered a Cult under definition 6. but this isn't a debate on the word "Cult" it is what do Mormons prefer to be called? which is what I was trying to explain with the different terms that I know of for LDS Members.

comment Since Mormonism allows for humans to become gods in the afterlife, does this mean it is polytheistic?
add those to the Question. but one thing to remember is that just because it was written doesn't mean it should be taken completely literally, even in the bible literary devices were used to show an idea and were not meant to be taken literally.

I disagree @fredsbend, all religions do not force conformity, which is what I would say is the defining factor of being a Cult or not. but I do see how you could say that all religions do that. but I think even in an academic setting there are those that are called religions and those that are called cults. there is a line drawn in the sand somewhere.

very good question, I hope that some LDS users post here, it has been quite some time since I have gone to an LDS Church myself.
