comment How is Freemasonry related to Christianity?
Ick. "Heretical" for whom? I'm pretty sure most Unitarians would have no trouble with this philosophy whatsoever, even in your strawman form.

comment Is it possible for an atheist to be moral?
Have to disagree with the second sentence a wee bit. My old youth soccer coach, an avowed Atheist, was a far more moral person (even according to most Christian theology) than nearly every Christian I have ever met.

comment Why were Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed?
For your two points, aren't those just about Sodom? Surely poor Gomorra didn't get smote just for the misfortune of being nearby...

comment Does the Bible itself give us clues about which parts to interpret literally and which figuratively?
Yes, it is self-referential. Suppose I find a passage that says, "Take everything literally." How would you decide if you should take that one literally?

comment Does the Bible give any reason as to why its content is sometimes difficult to interpret?
@Jenny Thomson - I think the best answer I can give to that without starting a fight, is that many denominations don't have Biblical Inerrency as a fundamental principal. If you are curious how that works, you should probably post a question.

comment Atheism is the default position. Isn't the burden of proof on the Christian to assert that God exists?
Question doesn't really match the title.
