Have any Christian denominations publicly raised concerns about the Catholic Jerusalem Bible? Yes. I'll put an example in the main question to clarify the sense. |

What is the King James only movement? Agreeing with Ullallulloo, I find that those raised in proximity with the text have little to no challenge understanding it as well as more contemporary English (and I think it gives an edge when later reading Shakespeare, for instance). This bars, of course, convoluted passages that are difficult to understand even in contemporary language, such as many of the esoteric Pauline expositions in Romans and Corinthians. |

Have any Christian denominations publicly raised concerns about the Catholic Jerusalem Bible? I am referring to the original 1966 Jerusalem Bible, which the New Jerusalem Bible does not directly revise, as I understand. I refer to corrections or conjectural emendations of the original text made by the editors and translators, and not to corrections (as of typographical errors) made in subsequent printings. |
