What is temptation? Temptation is the act of encouraging one to exercise their free will for a selfish desire. |

Can there be free will in heaven? Free will + selfish desires is the cause of suffering. Free will alone is not the cause. |

Where in the Bible is the restoration of the nation of Israel prophesied? I think the 1948 date is not in line with the bible prophecies, I would post an answer but I cannot remember all the verses, I may look later if I am not too busy. |

Can an atheist go to heaven? How can an Atheist accept Christ (the only way - John 14:6) when he has faith in his atheist beliefs. The truth should not be mistaken in that Christ has to be accepted to get to heaven and an atheist makes a conscious decision to not believe in any god let alone Yahweh. |

Is there a significant difference between salvation by faith with works and salvation by faith and works? Also, please state which view point you are speaking from, the use of 'outer darkness' makes me think you are talking from a Mormon perspective, is this true? |

Is there a significant difference between salvation by faith with works and salvation by faith and works? +1 The professing of ones faith in Christ does require an action, as in your chair analogy, to do as Christ did. |

Is there a significant difference between salvation by faith with works and salvation by faith and works? +1 I like your answer because the works aspect is not clear but this does a good job, (the coin analogy) to help understand how it works. It is similar to praying for your clothes to be pressed but not actually picking up the pressing iron to perform the work. |

Is there a significant difference between salvation by faith with works and salvation by faith and works? +1 I am 100% behind this answer especially as you have stated that the good works that are done should be the fruit of salvation not an effort by the person to make themselves righteous by following a legalistic regime. |

Is there a significant difference between salvation by faith with works and salvation by faith and works? Remember 'works' is two things; 'works of the law' which does not gain salvation, and 'works' with faith which is mentioned in James. The latter 'works' is a reflection of an inward change and necessary to make your faith alive. |

What's the name of this doctrine and (when) did the Eastern Orthodox Church condemn it? This is also a part of some Mormon beliefs where some people can eventually make it into the telestial heaven, the lower of the three heavens. |

Why did Jesus question God on the cross? +1 - It is important that people know that this was probably the single most painful part of what Jesus experienced - the separation from God - no longer in communion with the Father and, remember he was fully man, if you try being crucified it is quite likely your mind as well as your body are at breaking point. What would you think if you were in the same situation, what would you say? I think I would be completely loosing my marbles, many things may come from my mouth, but the fact he was fulfilling prophecy too is indeed significant, hence my +1 |

Why did Jesus not want to be known as the Messiah? +1 perfect timing is for me a definite part of his reasoning for not wanting it to be publicised. |

Why did Jesus not want to be known as the Messiah? I think it does relate strongly to Jesus wanting individuals to gain a personal revelation. |

What guidelines or rules should be used when interpreting the Bible? There is more to it than that, but not much more and nothing as important as how the study is actually undertaken. I agree that my initial answer did not explicitly detail my explanation but I have updated why I shared my own bible study technique which I would hope does add more value to my answer. |
