comment Can one sin be worse than another sin, or are all sins equal?
No problem it's past bedtime for me too!

comment Are faith and proof mutually exclusive?
It's perfectly fine of course for dictionaries to describe languages from the perspective of how they are actually used rather than how they might apply to a given religion. It's important to highlight when usage of a word for a key concept has different meanings within your topic scope to its general meaning outside it, especially when they overlap. I don't think the fact of the mismatch can be construed as bad or worse, simply as a mismatch. And everybody should know about it.

I want to know about both so I can be sure of what I'm doing when I use the term. It seems there is an important difference that might not be widely enough promulgated.

comment Are faith and proof mutually exclusive?
This seems to imply that the typically accepted dictionary definition of faith mismatches the Old Testament (at least) definition of faith. Would that be fair to say?

Hopefully somebody else can find a way. It seems to make a difference in type or result rather than magnitude though.

@El'endia Starman: I want to take things in steps so that I don't assume too much and get things wrong.

comment Are faith and proof mutually exclusive?
So if the existence of god were proven, faith in him would not be possible. And equivalently, Since god demands that we believe in him with specifically with faith it is not possible to prove his existence?

comment What is the essence of sin?
So man's conscience doesn't weigh up whether an act is good or bad but only decides whether it would result in disobedience?

comment What is the essence of sin?
So there is nothing inherently evil in any sin other doing what we were told not to?

comment Can an atheist go to heaven?
So nobody from before of the time of Jesus, including Moses and Noah would be in Heaven?

comment Atheism is the default position. Isn't the burden of proof on the Christian to assert that God exists?
If there is evidence for the existence of god what role does faith play?

comment Is Christianity a monotheistic religion?
If god had commanded us not to worship unicorns that wouldn't imply that unicorns exist, it would imply that god knows we are capable of worshiping things which do not really exist.

comment How did all the animals fit into Noah's ark?
For starters you can subtract all species which have less than or greater than two species, and the species whose genders are not male and female.
