Why has God punished every human for one person's sin? @Jonathan. Not quite. God has done everything short of forcing us against our own free will to bring us to Him. He even came to us in the flesh. He instituted the Church. God wants to protect us. But, like a child who refuses its mother's embrace and runs away, so can we. God has done everything He should. All that's left is for us to respond and accept it. That is a basic tenet of Christianity. |

What are the biblical arguments against the papacy and papal succession? Ah I see. Thanks for clarifying that. |

What are the biblical arguments against the papacy and papal succession? Is this widely held? Because it seems plain to me that the rock is Peter, given the name Peter comes from the Greek word Petra which means "rock", and Jesus was using a bit of a play on words there. |

If one divorces is it considered adultery to marry again no matter what the circumstances were for this decision? @newwings Although, doctrine typically should be derived from interpretations of Scripture. There may be different doctrines, but they derive from different interpretations of Scripture. And I understand that it is rare for different translations of the Bible to select different doctrines. |

Is it a sin to do “works” for the sake of “rewards” in heaven? @Pacerier The incorrect assumption is that if you do good works, you will be rewarded. It is not, in fact, simply the works that will get you the rewards. If you do not have your heart in the right place, no work will get you any reward in heaven. |

Is the stigmata biblically sound? I'd say it answers the question quite well, and succinctly, as it directly addresses whether it is Biblical or not. |

How should Christians participate in a democracy? Absolutely agree. Though I would emphasize that we should be sure that we are not neglecting evangelization of the spirit by evangelizing the laws. |

How do theistic evolutionists view the Fall of Man? Good answer, though I'm not sure I follow the point of the poem. I can understand it, but it's not easy to parse. :) |

Why do OEC discount the literal interpretation of the book of Genesis? @Jonathan I understand that it's not light reading. :) In short, the view is basically that we cannot infer timelines and key dates by looking primarily at the Bible simply because of the way and the reason it was written/recorded and the stories passed down. I didn't want to just leave it at that, though. :) There's a good 2 sentence summary in the preface to the book of Genesis in my New American Bible back home. I'll have to include that for the TL;DR version later on. |
