Biblical basis for baptism as a prerequisite for salvation Scarcity? Baptism is mentioned more than 80 times in the new testament. |

What is the Lutheran doctrine of “Law and Gospel”? "I'm having a hard time understanding the distinction" -- I think that is the point of Luther's quote: it's not easy. |

Do any Christian traditions intentionally use the name 'Yahweh'? In other words, many consider using "Yahweh" is less honorable to name, rather than more. |

Why do women have inferior rights in the Bible? It's also worth noting that all of this is way ahead of it's time. Other cultures in the area treated women as little better than property. To give women so much influence was revolutionary for the time. |

Why do Christians need to promote their religion to non-believers? @Marc You're stretching. Hitting closer to home, surely you as a programmer have seen a colleague about to use a technique that is widely used, but you consider harmful. Even if you'll never have to maintain that code or use the product, if you had the opportunity you would want to correct the developer. |

Why do Christians need to promote their religion to non-believers? @Marc - the question is asking about a Christian's motives, so it's perfectly fair to evaluate it from the Christian's point of view. |

How is it that someone who lived thousands of years ago can “represent” me? I think the phrase "because all sinned" undermines this passage as a proof text for original sin. It suggests that individuals also sinned separately, and that is the reason for their depravity, rather than a connection to Adam's sin, and the punishment we all bear for the original sin is mere earthly mortality. |

What is the justification for relying on faith healing over conventional medicine? Of course it's not silent. I didn't say it was. I do disagree with your implication: mentioning something does not imply a commentary on it or approve it. That said, I also don't claim to agree with the interpretation used here. I was just explaining where it comes from. |
