comment What does the Bible say about tithing?
@Mawia No longer required for Salvation. You are correct in that Tithes are not required for Salvation. For some men circumcision is required for health reasons.

@Flimzy Weak distinction? My apologies but IMHO it is an important part of the Christian belief. In a parable (Matt 25:40) The King (who represents God in the parable) says ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

@Flimzy They aren't quite the same. Sure they mention desiring something better for others but there is no action there. Its not about doing good rather than wishing good for them.

@Flimzy actually its more about not doing harm than doing something good. Which is the whole point.

comment How do I get more faith?
@Richard I don't read between the lines when I don't need to. It says hearing and that's what it says. Further than that is between each person and God.

comment Can one sin be worse than another sin, or are all sins equal?
+1 for having both sides of the coin. I've always understood that they are all equal AND unequal: The all equally disqualify us from heaven (on our own merits) but they do not have equal consequences.
