Typing this question makes me think God was wise in choosing a very learned man to be the chief NT author. Millions may have had saving faith, but not as many could probably explain it as well.

It's only a duplicate if you assume that YEC is "the" position. Old Earth Creationism, which is not addressed in the titles of the two proposed duplicate questions, would hold the Big Bang to be compatible with Genesis. Young Earth Creationism often discounts the Big Bang altogether.

comment If Adam and Eve were exempt from death, why did they need to eat?
Physical exertion requires energy. If you have a physical body and climb a mountain, it will require energy to raise your mass to a higher potential energy. Same with many physical tasks such as sowing, sawing, etc. Eating is the way to get energy.

Natural law is simply consequences. Things with really bad consequences, we say violate natural law.

@rhetorician, your link is exactly what I'm looking for. Ultimately, I am trying to understand differences between Jerry Falwell's "Bible-believing" or Fundamentalist approach, and the methods some extremely theologically conservative Lutherans, who have explicitly gone through denominational splits over interpretation methods.

No, not eschatology. Differing schools of thought on how to be literal. And just extended definitions; no assessment if best ones, if possible, thanks.
