When did knowledge of Christ's sacrifice become necessary for salvation? Jesus said, "except ye REPENT ye shall all likewise perish." Why is repentance excluded in your salvation formula? Also, I don't think penence is the right word for that. |

How should other churches respond to a pastor and congregation who live contrary to the Gospel? Being the son of the pastor, he should've known toting his boyfriend to church might have been a bit provocative. Like driving into the ghetto in the General Lee and tooting your Dixie horn. |

How would a Christian explain the “contradiction” of homosexuality? The title of your answer had me wondering until I read on. +1 |

Absent apostolic succession, what is the argument for the authority of the church? Wouldn't it be a problem for Joseph to be talking with dead people? There are clear Bible prohibitions against doing that and it got Saul into some trouble. |

What is the argument for papal succession? @tjameson - Ok, but the link may still be helpful on the question. [ Accidentally deleted original comment, which read: It's always dangerous to elevate man's word to a level anywhere near God's: see ianpaisley.org/article.asp?bible3.htm Sorry! -Ed. ] |

What does 'first estate' mean in Jude 1:6 (KJV)? I don't think it was a particular rank within the angels, but in the overall ranking of God's created beings. The Bible doesn't define rank among angels, but it does distinguish rank between men and angels: Psalm 8:5 Hebrews 2:7. Men become like angels after death: Luke 20:36 |

How is Christ's death so significant? How can you say he's outside of time in one sentence, and speak of him (rightly so) in terms of time in the next? He created time, yes. But don't assume that he kept himself outside of it. "by his own blood he entered in ONCE into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (emphasis mine). When he said "it is finished," that was it. |

Is it hypocritical to be a Christian and also be against welfare? Amen. I think instead of foodstamp programs that allow people to buy king crab legs and steaks, the program should be limited to a sort of highly nutritious gruel. |
