comment Why do some Protestants divide the Blood of Christ into individual cups?
And we could suggest that using a common cup is not biblical, just traditional. The Bible does not specify that one cup MUST be used.

Sanitation. That's all. Also, most Protestants do not see it as the blood of Christ--just a symbol of that.

comment What is the reason and meaning of the symbols on the garments worn by Temple-worthy LDS members?
@Matt Mason did assert that I had been "warned" not to ask such things. That's what I was referring to, so, yes, someone was, in fact, threatening me. No, I've never seen the garments. I recently came across some information on the LDS and have been asking a few questions about it. That's all. The information mentioned that there were symbols on the garments which also happened to be used in freemasonry. So, I figured I would ask.

@MasonWheeler I did not phrase my question in any disparaging manner, either. Garments are worn outside the temple, so how am I supposed to even know what LDS members find offensive or sacred? It was not my purpose to offend anyone in any way.

@MasonWheeler I would suggest that whether or not someone finds something offensive must not be the standard that governs what questions are asked in any forum. If that were the case, we would all be held captive to the most overly-sensitive person or group. Indeed, any particular group could just take offense at almost anything and shut down any question they feel does not put them in a good light. There are certainly groups like this in the political realm and in other religions. For this forum, I do not believe threats or warnings should be made to shut down honest inquiry.

So, the answer is, "no one knows and you shouldn't even ask". That's hardly an answer.

@Matt It's an honest question. No religious group ought to be able to censure questions by those outside of their group. Only those within the group are bound to abide by the laws of the group. This is a legitimate question.

We could also ask, "Why does Moses lack the justice that God has?"

You might check out this answer: christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/25243/… It appears that the Jews may have thought about hours differently than the Romans, but John may have been written for a broader audience than just the Jews, as Matthew was. So, Matthew may use the Jewish manner, but John may use the Roman/Greek manner.

comment Stealing money from God
Paul persecuted Christians, and he was forgiven. God's holiness is such that the smallest offense will be judged, but God's mercy is so great that the greatest offense can be forgiven.
