Thanks for the answer. So to sum it up, the answer is based on the fact that 'all of the genetic information seen in the species today was present in the first generation'. I also like the point @JoelCoehoorn makes that it was a miraculous event. I would like to see any other potential answers before choosing :)

Thanks for the answer. A lot of the question surrounds whether it would be enough time between Noah and now. It's good to know that it is possible for dogs, but let's say if it were any other animal with a lot of variation (since dogs are bred and there's also a very fast divergence), would it still be possible?
