Why should a sinner suffer forever in hell fire? Have to downvote, can't get past the first sentence: "I see hell as not a punishment, but a double exorcise [sic] of mercy." Hell is an exercise of mercy? "And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night..." (Rev 14:11). Or the logic based on man's freewill. Not an answer well reasoned from the Scriptures IMO. |

Should husbands submit to wives? Is this what the text is arguing though? The text says a wife should submit to her husband "in everything." If someone doesn't like that, ok, but it is what the text says. So, IMO, you aren't submitting to a man because he is a man. A wife is submitting to her husband because her Lord has told her to. Thats a big difference. |

Should husbands submit to wives? Show me one verse that says husbands should submit to wives. "Submitting to one another" does not mean everyone submits to everyone else. If you keep reading in the passage, it further defines who should submit to who. See my answer for a more full explanation. |

How do we make sure that we are on the rightful religion/path? @hkBattousal: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Heb 11:1). Please see my paragraph above starting with "Someone can kick and scream and complain..." At the end of the day, Christianity is built on truth revealed in the Bible. The Bible says that to be saved from the judgment of God, you must repent and believe (i.e. have faith). You may not like that model, but I'm not the guy to take that up with! :) |

How do we make sure that we are on the rightful religion/path? @MarcGravell: agreed, some will do just that. However, thats why I said "with a humble and prayerful attitude." Ultimately, "small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." But for those that will find it, I don't believe there is a better method than going to God's word humbly and with a prayerful heart. |

How should a Christian object to those who say Paradise may be a little boring? re 1 Cor 2:9 -- Wish I could vote this down. Please read that verse in context, you cut off "... these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit." Paul is not referring to heaven, he is referring to the gospel of Jesus Christ, which has now been revealed. I appreciate your heart in answering, just want to make sure that verse is understood in context. |
