Second Timothy 2:22-26 (ESV) --

So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

comment Why can't Catholicism just drop its Marian devotion?
This is a great answer to begin with, and the use of objective & deferential language makes still better. +1 and welcome.

comment What does “to pray” mean in Catholicism?
Hi Anonymous. Do you happen to have a reference for that definition of "worship?" I think it might be contra Roman Catholic orthodoxy -- not that I'm an expert on the subject, because I'm not. Also, FWIW, the KJV usually renders G1391 as "glory," but in at least one verse (Lk 14:10) it is translated as "worship" to describe behavior directed at other people, rather than toward God, in what is apparently a positive tone. Thanks.

@GediminasJeremiahGudelis: There's a Christianity.SE question for that: "Why are Christian books not public domain?"

Also, John Piper provides a great -- and very direct -- answer to that question in this five minute YouTube video.
