comment What is the power that Christians possess?
@vsz you right, this is a religious site but Such comments are common here, reason being see the edited out text matter in this link meta.christianity.stackexchange.com/posts/64/revisions. It easy to edit a text but mind...?? It is refusal to learn from history, from the fall of communism within few decades of its coming into existence, which strived 'desperately' to achieve this same objective, in sharp contrast to the sucess/grip/endurance of Christianity for two millenium.

@MarcGravell Allow me to put this:- 1Cor. 2:14 The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. Also Mark 4:11 He said to them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those outside, everything is in parables, 4:12 so that although they look they may look but not see, and although they hear they may hear but not understand, so they may not repent and be forgiven.” And incidentally this is from Mark.:)

@Marc Regarding your query on the two premises, what else Humans can aspire to have in two lives that they have to spend, one on earth with body + soul and other the afterlife of only soul (of course for some who do not believe in after life, it may be relevant only for one earthly life). Religions are for humans and their Role is precisely address these two premises and if they cannot fulfill these basic needs then for what other reason they need to exist.

comment What is “Manuscript Evidence” and how is it useful?
One more important book missed in the above list is Quran. Today the earliest copies of Quran are dating back to 688 A.D., a time span of 56 years after the death of Mohammad or a time span of more than 56 years after it was written on fragmented parchments, scapula, leafstalks of date palms etc.

comment What official statements represent Christianity's position on the Gospel of Barnabas?
@MarcGravell You are right.. It is however implied in this manner at one place:- (Quote) "Jesus confessed, and said the truth; 'I am not the Messiah ... I am indeed sent to the house of Israel as a prophet of salvation; but after me shall come the Messiah" (sects. 42, 48)"(Unquote). This is contradictory to the Qur'an, which calls Jesus the "Messiah" [the Christ]. Apart from this, these manuscripts does mentions the name of Muhammad at several other places.

comment What official statements represent Christianity's position on the Gospel of Barnabas?
@MarcGravell Assuming I have read you correctly what I meant to say is that the original Barnabas proclaimed Divinity of Jesus, His crucifixion as well as Resurrection along with Paul. Same Barnabas cannot contradict these claims in this book purportedly written by him and therefore the author of this book is not original Barnabas but a pretender for him.
