comment What evidence is there to support the position that the Bible is truly the Word of God to mankind?
Actually, where does the Bible say it is the word of God (and I mean OT and NT, OT alone doesn't count)

"Scripture" is the Bible including NT? How so? Everywhere in the NT, when they say "Scripture", they of course mean (except when explicitly stated otherwise) the OT.

comment What are the reasons for calling oneself a “follower of Jesus” rather than a Christian?
@cwall: of course, you'd shake your walking stick at dem dere whippersnappers while shouting. ;-)

comment Has the name “Jesus” ever been used for naming Jewish children since the Savior's incarnation?
Oh, and the answers confirm my view: they all miss the "Jewish community" bit.

@brilliant: Okay, let me change that "How" into a "Why". Or: why do you think that Christians will (or should) know? You're asking about the Jewish community. Not the Christian community. I know probably quite a bit more about Jewish customs than the average Christian (not talking about people on here, mind you), but why and how should I know anything about current naming customs? Why do you expect anyone else here know that?

comment Is Christmas biblical?
Harsh winters in Israel? Anyone confirm? Isn't that a bit too far south to really be harsh?

In the Jewish community? How should some Christians know that? And why shouldn't they? So, I'd expect it to have been used... as long as it's not seen as "too old" or even "ancient".

comment What is the biblical basis for the claim that abortion is immoral?
@Narnian: When someone knits a sweater... when is it a sweater? Not while being knit, I'd say. Do you disagree? As I said, "not done", leaving the question open. And that question "when does life actually start" is the important bit.

comment Why would God create beings with the capacity to sin?
@Caleb: I read the book cover to cover. And I totally disagree that "every single example of anything God did was done for his Glory".

comment Is there any biblical justification for referring to God as Mother?
@Neil: did you just say that God is... transgender? ;-P

comment Is there any biblical justification for referring to God as Mother?
It's a realization that God isn't a human being, so of course He (;-)) has no gender.

comment How do I get more faith?
I'd prefer if you'd have mention this is LDS material right away, instead of one having to read (or scroll down) to the end to realize it's... well, not really mainstream.

comment Are there any documented instances of anyone moving a mountain in faith?
@Ulla: and who decides what was meant for the disciples, and what was meant for us too? A conundrum.

Can you quote Scripture as to "God created everything just for his Glory"?

Free will is not the prime directive, love is. But freedom (and thus, free will) is a very close second (and also a consequence of love).
