I'll just add that, in answer to the specific question, the doctrine of the Trinity is fully accepted by most Messianic Jews.

comment Godparents in Protestantism
Godparents should be involved in the spiritual upbringing of the child even if the parent does not die. Obviously the parents have the primary role, but godparents are not simply a backup.

comment Godparents in Protestantism
In case it's not clear, Anglicans, Lutherans etc. have godparents because they have infant baptism.

comment Is there any Biblical basis for baby dedications?
'Christening' is used (in the churches I'm familiar with) as a synonym for baptism, especially when it's done to an infant.

comment What Biblical support is there for a non-Churched Christianity?
"they all agreed on was that if I picked the wrong church I was going to hell". You looked at a very strange bunch of churches. No church I have ever been involved with said that.

comment Does Sola Scriptura go hand in hand with personal interpretation?
Just to add that some Protestants, from the Anabaptist tradition, consider the church as a community to be the valid interpreters of scripture. They would reject the idea that the heirarchy of the church is empowered to interpret scripture, but would also reject that the interpretation of any Christian, apart from the community, is as valid as any other. Of course they would probably also not espouse sola scriptura.

comment Was the Cold War a “rumor of a war?”
If it is a "rumour of war" then the quote specifically says "it will not yet be the end".

comment What is the difference between a pastor, a priest, and a minister?
I once read the regulations on appointment of a Church of Scotland minister. It started with "no-one shall be appointed to minister within the Church of Scotland unless he shall be called". I thought that was a great spiritual way to start. Unfortunately the second paragraph went to on describe the exact wording the congregation was to write on the piece of paper that was "the call".

Deacons are not laity. At least not in the Catholic or Anglican traditions.
