comment How do we know that the Holy Spirit is God?
@Shredder: I suppose. The original question had the implication that the Trinity is God in 3 persons so this passage makes sense in that context (by lying to 1 person in the Trinity, you are also lying to the whole: God). An analogy could be parents: by lying to your mother you are also lying to your parents.

comment From a biblical perspective, Who performs a miracle - the person or God?
Did you ask this question just so you could answer it? Or did you just find the answer after asking it? Either way, it's a good answer.

comment What happens to people who have never heard about Jesus?
Wow, you analogy is very interesting. The "understanding" part might be challenged with the example of idol worship: the believe a God exists (faith) so they create a golden calf and worship through the idol. They give it a name because they don't know/understand God's name.

comment Why isn't the cross considered an idol?
I would say that the empty tomb is an even better symbol but is much harder to depict.

comment Why does Jesus not want people to repent and be forgiven in Mark 4?
It just told me "You do not have edit privileges. Your edit will be placed in a queue until it is peer reviewed." So how do I know how it was reviewed?

comment Is Christianity with reason wrong?
@MukeTever: Good point. When you reason, you are putting faith in your premises and faith in your conclusion. Not to mention faith in your ability to reason.

Judges Chapter 13 ends at verse 25. I don't see verse 31...

comment What is the message of Matthew 9:5?
@Pacerier: Maybe read the answer again? I think it's pretty clear. Both sentences are easy to just say, but you need to look beyond the act of speaking and look at what Jesus is doing.

comment Why is “elohim” translated as “God” and not “gods”?
@Richard: I think Godhead would make more sense than gods since the plural is usually used to talk about idols. But God works too because God represents three persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

comment Can angels be disguised as humans?
Ah thanks. I think Judges 13:16 sums it up. And the Angel of the LORD said to Manoah, “Though you detain Me, I will not eat your food. But if you offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD.” (For Manoah did not know He was the Angel of the LORD.) Is verse 31 a typo?

Where are you getting meteor from? It says "fire" and "burning sulfur" in the translations I've read.

The word is tekton. It looks like it mostly likely means carpenter but not always.

I did some major editing. I hope I didn't change your original intent.

I think you can expand on this even more by adding Matthew 13 which is the same event (Parabal of the Sower), written a little differently. I think Matthew explains it better Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah.

comment Why does Jesus not want people to repent and be forgiven in Mark 4?
I upvoted but I think you should get rid of the intro since it is not relevant to the question or your answer. Also, it would be nice if you added your own words after the quote.

comment Is Christianity functionally polytheistic?
It sounds like you already have the answer "yes" in your mind, while it sounds like many other people have the answer "no" in their mind. This just an opinion. As interesting as the question is, I don't think it is answerable. This site is not meant to be a discussion. You can go in chat or find a forum for discussion.

Great answer! This one actually references the bible. I don't know why the other answer has such high ratings.

This sounds like a statement, not a question.
