@unregistered-matthew7.7 Come on, get a permanent account. The site needs users like you to keep it running. :) And maybe even fill in some profile details. It's been such a long time and none of us knows anything about you.

comment Why the resurrection?
@msh210 +1 You shouldn't get hung up on the word saints. Sometimes it is used in a general sense to refer to Holy people. Psalm 50:5 Gather my saints together unto me. In second part of the answer, you might personally disagree with application of those verses to Christ. But you'll find 90% denominations of Christianity would apply those verses to the Messiah only. So the conclusion of answer would be - He had to be resurrected for fulfillment of prophecy.

@DavidStratton I think your personal thoughts are a valid answer in itself. It's certainly a bad idea and very creepy.

And let me get this straight. You as a champion of orthodoxy are suggesting preexistence?

"there was a christian-thermodynamics tag until it got nuked" And someday you'll regret it Peter Turner. (eerie background music) You'll regret it.

Hello Jason. Welcome to Christianity SE. That is a good first answer. I have edited your post to improve the formatting. You yourself can properly format your answer by using the buttons given on the top of editing screen. Also, if possible you should not post two separate answers for the same question. Hope to see you around.

And avatar is boring any which way. An expensive, over hyped movie, made only as an excuse to show off some over the top CGI.

I don't know classical but have you tried The God Hater? The Book of God: The Bible as a Novel is also good.

"I think I have committed worse sins than abortion and murder" I doubt that. Unless you somehow forgot your wife's birthday.

A bad example is actually worse than no example at all. I could also point out the prophet sent to Jeroboam who died only for eating bread when he wan't supposed to. If you read the entire account of David you'll see that he had to pay dearly for his sin. And if by that account you argue that it is a general pattern then why did God give the Mosiac law to not let a murderer live?

-1 Wonderful answer except that last part where you try to make your answer politically correct. "her sin is no greater than the sins we have all committed". Really bro? Could I just go out and commit a murder in cold blood and then ask for forgiveness? If she didn't know Christ then we can hope for forgiveness. If she was a Christian and already knew that it was a sin then it makes a whole lot of difference. Hebrews 10:26 "if we sin willfully after we have gained a full knowledge of the Truth, there can be no further sacrifice for sin"

comment Is there a connection between 666 and Solomon?
@kurosch It could've just been written that Solomon received a lot of money. But it doesn't say lot of money. Bible specifically quotes a number and repeats it twice. Secondly, did anyone read my comment above? A random coincidence defies the mathematics. Choose a 3 digit number in your head. What is the probability that it's the same I've chosen in my head? 0.1%

comment Is there a connection between 666 and Solomon?
@AffableGeek Doesn't seem likely. 1. The Bible is interconnected in many other places. Such as gospels quoting the Old testament etc. 2. Random coincidences do not occur like that. In a country if two people die at the same time by the same kind of weapon it probably is coincidence. If that happens in same neighborhood you'd expect some sort of connection. Talking in terms of probability, the size of domain/sample space matters.

@Jay Agreed. Every fourth grader should know that. So that would be an oversimplification indeed. I would rather discuss the space time distortion or exchange of gravitons as a reason. Let's grow up to eat meat and not stay infants on milk. Hebrews 5:12-15
