5th Generation Believer. Preacher's Kid. In ministry since childhood. Graduated 3rd year internship at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. Had John 3:16 memorized at 18 months old. Been on ministry teams in America, Mexico, and Cuba. Entire extended family professing to be Christian, most in ministry.

I don't take anything for granted. If something is a majority view it should usually be examined as to why it is so, is it correct or is it just what is the status quo? Broad is the road leading to destruction.

comment Will people in hell be able to remember people in heaven?
The closet thing to a church teaching this that I've heard is apacraphial writings stating that God will forget people in Hell. But not the other way around.

I wasn't aware of any church that teaches you won't remember you past life in Heaven. The bible says God will wipe away every tear, and that the past troubles will be forgotten. As for Hell the people there have chosen not to let God comfort them, so at the very least they won't be forgetting any of it. And the popular conjectur is that part of the torment is them reliving every moment they could have chose to serve God but didn't, however I don't know of any scripturual support for that of the top of my head. I've only heard of people in heaven forgetting their earthly lives from fairtials.

@pterandon There is a huge difference in turning people away and not forcing them to follow you. Jesus laid out requirements, many people chose not to listen and left.

comment Biblical justification for Protestantism?
I think the most famous verse is John 3:16 as it commands "Whosoever believes in Him, SHALL NOT PARISH." and as we all know the local catholic churches are called a Parish . So they are breaking one of the most well known commandments right there. :) and for those who don't get it, this is a joke people, sorry I couldn't resist. :D

comment What traditions hold that Satan is not actually a person?
Sorry Baard. But the question was about what traditions(I.E. denominations) teach this doctrine, it's ok to clarify what they teach only in context of who they are.

comment Is there a biblical reason to limit information about creation to Genesis?
I didn't watch this version because my sound is out, but please be aware the poster admits to editing it(it's half the length!), and we can tell from his other videos he heavily evangilizes Hugh Ross's position. I recomend you watch the debate between Ross and Ham on the John Ankerberg show (it's divided over several weeks) for a slightly more in depth debate between the two. Also Ham was not expecting a debate that night as they did not tell him Ross would be there until he came to the studio, so he felt a little ambushed, I watched the pre-show unfold on his facebook page.

comment What was the light of the first day of creation?
I just want to point out that weather or not the day-age theory is valid, the fact that Hugh Ross calls it a literal definition is at the very least intellectually dishonest. It's also not exegesis, it's eisegesis . While it can certainly be a subject of debate for learned people, anyone who has to insist that it's a literal view is really deceived. Then when you start to exam the other things he claims are facts in depth, you find ALLOT of misinformation.

removed obsolete observation about the nature of the first version of the question.

LoL, Yeah that's true too. Sooner than we realize too because there wouldn't have been a flood either.

comment Does the triune God have will by nature, or by persons?
@SoftwareMonkey Wow, I had already separated the two fields so much I never even caught he was doing that here(and yes I'm a programmer to). :) it's so obvious now, but lol man, I can't believe I didn't see what he was saying before.

comment Do we actually know that Jesus was a carpenter?
I'm not saying Jesus wasn't taught the trade of Joseph. But I just thought it was funny you should use the example "It was required of the father to teach the son their trade at age 12, and find a wife for them around the age of 20" as a reason. Obviously he didn't find a wife for Jesus at 20. :)
