What are Christians called who believe in a non-intervening God? @AffableGeek: It appears Deism is not really Christian. Are there any self-proclaimed Christian denominations with similar beliefs? |

Is it correct to say “any effort using scientific way to prove or disprove God is in vain”? @Daniel: people have been trying to do this for thousands of years. It is so much more powerful when they discover it on their own anyway...however, you may find some sort of support in the quantum physics scientific community, where there is a realization that our greatest of knowledge is a very small part of reality. |

What is the scope of God's will? @Keith Nobody knows, if there was an answer - you would already know it by now. Here is to the questions that don't have answers. However, I think the fact that we can't know these type of questions DOES says a lot about God's will for our understanding and what he reasonably expects of humanity.....we are to be at peace with not knowing and love our neighbors with their lack of understanding. |

How long is it necessary to repent for an act of sin? @Jas3.1: I never thought of it as "iterally means to change one's mind." Can you put this in an answer, it is really good, thanks. |

What does a Christian believe an evil spirit IS? @DavidStratton: Please give the answer from the Baptist denomination and state that in the answer. Denominations don't really agree on anything anyway, so if that was a requirement for questions here what's the point... |

Why does God often permit his children to suffer in this world more than the wicked? @Caleb: you are relating this to traditions of thought, but look back at the source, the word..... |

Why does God often permit his children to suffer in this world more than the wicked? @Caleb: Ok, so you are taking back your comment about this philosophy pertaining to mainstream Christianity and replacing it with Orthodox... I live right next to a huge Easter Orthodox Christian church. They regularly have large gatherings with loud music, festivals and food - they are doing exactly what I am talking about here and living with joy. Suffering and joy is not a Christian idea, it is just the lens you look at it with, and to answer the question is to realize God does give us a choice, free will and in some cases commands us to be joyful:openbible.info/topics/joy |
