comment If the Ten Commandments say “thou shalt not kill” how can a Christian fight in a war?
@Caleb: "you aren't seeing the forest" is TAKING JESUS OUT out of the Gospel and is not Christian. and actually the breadth of Jesus' is not the popular answers here: huffingtonpost.com/deepak-chopra/…

comment Are some people pursued by the “enemy” relatively more than others?
and what about the relativity of "attack" in the context of all unbelievers - i.e. one unbeliever has more "attacks" from the enemy than another unbeliever?

@Caleb: imagine for a minute that you were one of the disciples and you asked Jesus this question, face to face...I think we all know the answer in His heart, just look around at the world, it is not hard to tell that our construction of "breadth" is wrong....if you can show me that Jesus alone would agree that there is such a situation where it is Ok, then I would change my position. (BTW - these clumps of trees are the difference between spiritual life and death).

comment How do Christians understand the existence of God in relation to the scientific concept of energy?
@AdamRedwine: what scripture states this: "God is not a part of the universe,". If God is in us, than surely He is in the universe.

comment Does transcendental meditation conflict with any Christian beliefs?
@Caleb: it is possible to say no. at it's purest form it is inducing "conscious sleep". If it is truly just the meditation he is asking about, there is no conflict, just like there is no conflict to taking a nap.

comment Christian description of “self-love” (from Matthew 22)
@barney: "It's simply seeking the other's highest good. (and only God is good)." very good point, I hope to do that more often myself...

comment If the Ten Commandments say “thou shalt not kill” how can a Christian fight in a war?
@MatthewPK: I highly suggest you dig deeper in this and let me know what you find. and the example of while God commanded this killing sound very similar to Jesus healing people on the Sabbath - "This made them even more determined to kill him. They thought it was bad enough that he was breaking the law about the Sabbath day.” John 5:18 "But the world hates me, because I tell the people in the world that they do evil things." - Jesus

@NileshTailor: there is no one answer to that and no one alive can ever know that.

comment If the Ten Commandments say “thou shalt not kill” how can a Christian fight in a war?
@MatthewPK: There are libraries of books written about the contradictions of the Old Testamant law and Jesus' fulfillment of the law - there is no static answer there. However, one thing I know I am not misunderstanding is that it is NOT the message from JESUS. read all HIS WORDS again. I'm not the one confused. It is very CLEAR if you remove the fear of physical death.

comment Is the USA mentioned in the Bible?
@aceinthehole: as far as the Bible as a historical document, no. As far as prophesy it is impossible to know when the Bible mentions general lands from some coordination.

comment Can God reverse the fall of man specifically on earth?
I have yet to meet these Christians: "There do not have awareness or sense of endangerment from judging good and evil, because they are no longer under the Law."

comment What is the basis of Christian belief that criminals should be punished on Earth?
"and those that exist have been instituted by God" line like this make me see that maybe some kings did have an influence in re-writing some parts. Otherwise God instituted the conflict between world powers....
