yeah it helps for some parts of the issue. You mentioned "those people were not sent by God for you to help" - there is no way for me to know who is who, God would specifically have to tell me.

comment Do Christian concepts of fellowship allow for a congregation to welcome atheists to participate in their community?
If you are an athiest then wouldnt you rather be alone than listen to and interact with dillusional (from the perspective of an athiest) people? Why not join a bowling group or such?

@david-mulder: The thing is, even "violent white KKK Christians" are leaning more towards what Jesus was trying to say here: "Odinism has lately gained in popularity among white supremacists who believe that Jesus is too peaceful and too Jewish to worship, White said. "It's hard to get a violent god out of Jesus." religion.blogs.cnn.com/2014/04/14/…

comment Why doesn't God have to keep his own commandments such as “Do not murder”?
So it just means that thou shall not kill was ok for them to not follow?

@vera-kasayulie: "wouldn't that make him a forced traitor?" I think this may be a different question...

@vera-kasayulie: given Jesus said forgive them (for they know not what they do) I think they are safe, given Jesus' forgiveness - of all people.

but most of the leaders at that time were not Christian, so he appointed them but then they still went to hell?

comment What were the early Christians officially persecuted for?
@brilliant: yes, it was based on their laws, that Jesus was a false prophet and claiming to be God, one of the biggest breaking of Jewish laws! Why do you think Jews are not Christians today....?

"God has given our kings and rulers the right to punish wrongdoers" - didn't they just take that right on their own...?

comment If God desires salvation for all, how come many people died without hearing the gospel?
@gregory-magarshak: many good points and clearly a loving God would not let one go to hell for that which he had no awareness of the Gospel. The reality is that hundreds of thousands never heard the Gospel after Jesus resurrected. All South America did hear of him until much later...clearly there is more to God than we can know.

@Flimzy: sure, but I only get one perspective from one denomination.....how would you suggest to narrow it down?

"no creating power, only corrupts what was created good" -- I can see that..
