How do Protestants interpret Matthew 16:13-20 I agree with @AJHenderson. Most protestants would not argue against Peter having a special role (just read Acts). But there is no continuing liniage setup here - it's just one man and that one mans job |

What is the “eschatological tension” This seems to fit with the thrust of the sermon. Knowing that we are going to a perfect place makes us see how fallen this world is. We are already perfected in Christ, yet we continue to sin. |

Is Jesus truly God? I think I see where you are coming from @Alypius. Could a clearer question be something like "Does anyone in the bible other than Jesus say that Jesus is God"? |

What is the “eschatological tension” I can't remember the exact sentance. It was something like "this feeling is the eschatological tension". He was talking about how we are a part of a new perfect creation - yet looking around us the world is not perfect. |
