comment To a YEC, how does a metaphorical interpretation of Genesis 1-3 distort the gospel?
Begin a YEC myself, yes, this passage in Romans is the crux. If it isn't true that one literal man sinned, then the argument that "as by one man's sin death entered the world" falls apart. It is also apparent to me that when Jesus refers to God making "male and female" from the beginning and referring to the Genesis passage on marriage that He was affirming the literal creation of a single man and woman. If Jesus was wrong about that we're in trouble.

Yes, I meant 120 years. Thankfully someone fixed that with an edit.

comment Did Moses see the face of God?
@Mawia, you're right that he might have seen him at some earlier time, but at least we know from Matthew that he certainly saw him face to face at some point.

comment Ancient nations in a young earth
Agreed. Maybe non- sequitur was too strong. It is the unreliability of ancient sources that was my main point.

Marc, I mean just because some ancient sources disagree with the Bible doesn't really tell us anything other than "ancient sources disagree". It doesn't really tell us anything about the reliability of the Bible any more than having sources that do agree.
