Because this Stack Exchange is moderated by users with very narrow views, I am no longer participating in it. The penalty box assigned to user Ron Maimon was nothing but an attempt to squelch an academic point of view.

Is it a problem for a Protestant to practice Yoga? @Mason - I would like warren to watch his tone. As for my tone, it's fine. The fact that warren is precisely right and I am NOT speaks volumes about the open-minded learning to be found on this SE: zilch. |

Is it a problem for a Protestant to practice Yoga? What is "pranayama" and do you consider it part of yoga, or have you ever heard of it before? Have you ever heard of someone named Patanjali, who wrote his Yoga Sutras? Referencing the Baghavad Gita and not Patanjali is a dead give-away that you don't know Yoga from Yogurt. |

Are Dinosaurs mentioned in the Bible? @Echo - Behemoth breathes fire! Job 40-41 describes Yahweh's unique dragon which will participate in destroying the earth. |

Is it a problem for a Protestant to practice Yoga? See James 4:11. A lot of your Christian brothers practice Yoga in a Christian mindset. |

Is it a problem for a Protestant to practice Yoga? "No one?" I've done Yoga for over ten years, and I vehemently disagree with your characterization of it as stretching, with the references you included to the Baghavad Gita (which is not a text about the Yoga we are talking about), and your condemnation of a healthful practice. Personally, the first time God spoke directly to me and gave me a sign of his power, I was meditating in Asana about the reasons not to commit a particular sin. |

Does Genesis 9:5 say that God holds animals accountable for killing humans? @Caleb - I would say Ron's answer here is the only useful answer. His point regarding the bizarre English translations from Hebrew is true. |

Was Onan really struck dead by God for masturbating? "Children in that time were important both for the social support for parents in their old age, and for continuance of the family line." -- Is this your take on the reason the tribe of Levi, and only this tribe, had the special duty? Why do you suppose it didn't apply to every tribe? |

Was Onan really struck dead by God for masturbating? I find it odd that you would pose this question and provide your own answer. This SE is for asking real questions, not teaching via rhetorical questions. |

What scholarship exists behind the WikiSource translation of the Bible? @AffableGeek - Do you read Hebrew, or do you just have a strong opinion which disses on Ron's opinion? |

Was Onan really struck dead by God for masturbating? I feel that you didn't get the correct answer. Onan was killed for not fulfilling his Levirate duty and for disobeying God. It might have worsened his punishment that he was indulging in hedonism under the guise of performing his Levirate duty, in which case the sexual act was part of his transgressing. It's also possible God would have killed him even for simply abstaining from intercourse with Tamar -- we don't know. |

Is it a problem for a Protestant to practice Yoga? Only people who have never done yoga compare it to a 'flexibility' or 'stretching' class. The correct term for yogic exercises is "asana." |
