I'm not entirely sure of the reason for the down-votes. This question has been brought up (at least by Dan Brown), and has great ramifications on the meaning and importance of marriage, especially if it is plausible.

Good point. I'm not going to bother attacking that verse, as this seems to be a commonly held belief. Just a question, would you consider the Bible to be inerrant/infallible? In what sense? This is what I was trying to expose.
